Route 1 (Shorter)

Granary Island and Stone Sluice

The shorter route is ideal for those taking their first steps on the SUP board. The tour starts on the New Motława River, where the water surface is particularly calm, which will make it   easy to master the basics of SUP.

At the beginning we will see what is still left of the former Nizinna Gate Railway Station and we will find out where the passengers used to come from. At the end of the trip we will visit the      Stone Sluice – a unique hydrotechnical monument from the 17th century.

We will paddle around the Granary Island – once the largest port warehouse district in Europe. We will find out which granaries have survived and which   were built in the present day. We will pass under the Green Bridge, which was once used by  Polish kings visiting Gdańsk, and under the Footbridge of the Holy Spirit, which is the    newest construction of this type in Gdańsk. We will admire the water gates, which are the   most prominent element of the architectural landscape of Gdansk. The effort of rowing will  be rewarded with the view of the historic Long Embankment and the majestic Crane.
